Kristin and Daniel were married at the lovely Freight Shed in Yorktown, VA back in March. They met at work and are both engineers. Kristin and Daniel are also fellow board game lovers and when we met for the first consultation at their house I got to see their impressive collection. Kristin has a wonderful laid back personality and it didn’t seem to phase her that it poured on her wedding day. Luckily, the rain subsided after the ceremony and all their friends and family were able to dance the night away. Since Kristin and Daniel are also friends of ours, Justin and I were fortunate enough to also be invited as guests to the wedding.
For her wedding flowers Kristin wanted them to appear as if they had just been picked from the garden. She choose a soft shade of lavender and yellow as the colors for her arrangements so they would compliment the bridesmaid dresses she picked as well as Daniel’s grey suit. At the consultation she showed me images of the bridesmaid gowns she had picked. They were very unique in that they were printed bridesmaid dresses. The print had soft shades of green, light blue and cream. She has a great eye because the colors she specified that I used in the wedding flowers did compliment the dresses perfectly. We used some of the extra fabric from the dresses to wrap her bouquet in and then the bridesmaid bouquets were wrapped in burlap.
They got married at the Freight Shed in Yorktown and it is such a beautiful venue that sits right on the water.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from their day.
